First of a time series of eight photos of the evolution of slime mold sporulation, taken over about 16 hours, approx 4 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. I left a point-and-shoot camera on a little gorillapod in front of the slime mold and periodically triggered it. Flash was used in all cases. The autofocus wandered a bit in some of the middle photos. Note that the timing was irregular, with nine hours between the penultimate and last photos.
